US rock heavyweights Alter Bridge have unveiled “What Lies Within,” the second single from their upcoming self-titled eighth studio album, “Alter Bridge”, due out January 9, 2026 via Napalm Records.

The song arrives only weeks after their comeback track “Silent Divide,” which has already climbed the Active Rock charts and racked up over two million views on YouTube. “What Lies Within” delivers everything fans expect from Alter Bridge: dueling riffs from Myles Kennedy and Mark Tremonti, a thunderous rhythm section courtesy of Brian Marshall and Scott Phillips, and lyrics that explore humanity’s darker impulses. The track comes with a haunting animated video directed by J.T. Ibanez.

Alter Bridge” will feature 12 brand-new tracks, including “Rue The Day,” “Scales Are Falling,” and the epic closer “Slave To Master.” Longtime producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette once again handled production duties, recording at both 5150 Studios in California and his Florida facility.

To support the release, the band will launch the “What Lies Within Tour” across Europe beginning January 15 in Hamburg, Germany, with special guests Daughtry and Sevendust. The tour includes stops in Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki (January 22 at Ice Hall Black Box), Madrid, Paris, and London, before wrapping March 5 in Nottingham, UK. A U.S. run will follow in April and May 2026.

Formed in 2004, Alter Bridge have built one of modern rock’s most loyal followings, releasing albums such as “Blackbird”, “Fortress”, and “Pawns & Kings”. Their signature blend of soaring melodies and powerful guitar work has earned them critical acclaim, chart success, and sold-out arenas worldwide. With “Alter Bridge”, the band aims to push their sound even further.

Pre-orders for the new album are available now via Napalm Records.
