Panama-based heavy alt-rock duo AlphaWhores have announced the release of their second album “You Can Come Out Now”, which will be released on June 13, 2025. The album can be pre-ordered HERE.
“You Can Come Out Now” was produced by London, UK-based double Grammy Award winner Adrian Bushby (Foo Fighters, Muse), who traveled to the band’s home country of Panama for the recording. It was mixed by long-time band colleague Evan Rodaniche from the USA.
To coincide with the album announcement, the band are also releasing their first single ‘Pirate Mode‘, a stomping anthem about resilience and dealing with life’s hurdles.

Going into ‘Pirate Mode’ involves thickening one’s skin to better withstand life’s harsher blows. The track features our vocal harmonies, which have become a signature part of our sound, layered atop chunky guitar fuzz and thundering drums that advance forcefully to the pace of two distinct time signatures.
The new single follows the release of “Over and Over”, a cover version of the Hot Chip classic of the same name, which AlphaWhore reinterpreted in their unmistakable style. The song was produced and mixed by Evan Rodaniche. You can watch the video HERE.
Panama-based duo AlphaWhores consists of Massiel Pinzón and Juan Carlos García de Paredes, who have been working together for over 20 years. Back then, they both played in the alternative rock band Mabí.
In 2021, after facing the end of a long-standing personal relationship, Massiel and Juan Carlos found themselves back in the studio to jam together and make new music to help them process the changes in their lives. The studio sessions were so successful that they decided to turn them into a new music project and AlphaWhores was born.
With “You Can Come Out Now”, the band continue to develop their eclectic mix of heavy influences, infused with their distinctive harmonies and a palette of raw riffs. The new album follows the release of their 2024 debut I (“One” – listen HERE), which includes the singles “Raw Nerve” and “Same Team”.
Massiel Pinzón and Juan Carlos García de Paredes comment on the new single as follows:
Recently Hot Chip’s Tiny Desk performance was fed to us by the YouTube algorithm. As we watched we noticed the opening track ‘Over and Over’ had a very cool chord structure (similar to Lead Belly / Nirvana’s ‘Where Did You Sleep Last Night’) which could probably benefit from a touch of doom. As we heard the lyrics: ‘Laid back, we’ll give you laid back’ we thought: ‘Let’s make this even more laid back’.
AlphaWhores are embarking on their first 19-date European tour, which kicks off on February 27 and includes shows in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, France and the UK. Tickets are available HERE.
