Alissa White-Gluz has just announced that she will release a new single this upcoming Friday with Cole Rolland. It’s possible to pre-save the song by clicking at this link, but no further info have been revealed so far.
For years, Alissa has been releasing original music and self-directed music videos exclusively for her Patreon community. Now, the multi-faceted artist is ready to share her latest single with the world at large. Having performed on the world’s biggest stages as one of death metal’s most recognizable voices and enchanting the world as a leading woman of the scene, Alissa previously teamed up with Oliver Palotai of power metal virtuosos Kamelot, with whom she has performed and co-written multiple times before.
Alissa was a founding member of the Canadian metalcore band The Agonist and the former lead vocalist of the Swedish melodic death metal group Arch Enemy. She can sing clearly and harshly at the same time. She has appeared as a guest vocalist for power metal, symphonic metal, and deathcore bands, including Kamelot, Delain, Carnifex, and Powerwolf. She has also played live with Nightwish and Tarja Turunen, despite her primary association with melodic death metal and metalcore.
Together with Chris Kells and Danny Marino, White-Gluz founded The Agonist (formerly called “Tempest“) in Montreal in 2004. As their lead vocalist, she put out three albums with them. In the spring of 2014, White-Gluz was let go from The Agonist after accepting an offer to sing for Arch Enemy and expressing her desire to work simultaneously with both bands. Arch Enemy announced in a press statement in March 2014 that White-Gluz would take Angela Gossow’s place as their new vocalist.
She put out two live albums (“Tokyo Sacrifice” and “As the Stages Burn!”) and four studio albums (“War Eternal”, “Will to Power”, “Deceivers”, and “Blood Dynasty”) with Arch Enemy.
