Canadian post-hardcore act Alexisonfire have just dropped their cover of “Fully Completely” by The Tragically Hip, offering a fresh take on the beloved 1992 track. The song is the first preview from the band’s upcoming covers EP, “Copies Of Old Masters: Volume 1”, which honors influential artists from their homeland that helped shape their musical identity.
While this marks the official studio debut of the track, sharp-eared fans may remember Alexisonfire performing “Fully Completely” live as early as 2007. The EP includes four tracks total, with covers of Doughboys, Shallow North Dakota, The Tragically Hip, and Rusty. It’s a celebration of deep-cut Canadian rock history through the band’s signature post-hardcore filter.
“Copies Of Old Masters: Volume 1” will be released November 7 through Dine Alone Records.
