Canadian post-hardcore outfit Alexisonfire have released a new cover of Rusty’s 1995 anthem “Misogyny”. The track is a gritty, high-energy tribute to the golden age of Canadian alternative rock. It follows their earlier reinterpretation of “Fully Completely” by The Tragically Hip, both set to appear on the upcoming EP “Copies Of Old Masters: Volume 1”.

The single captures the raw attitude of the original while injecting Alexisonfire’s signature power and layered vocals. The band describes the EP as a love letter to the Canadian acts that shaped their youth, covering songs by Doughboys, Shallow North Dakota, The Tragically Hip, and Rusty. Each track reimagines the music that inspired them to start creating their own sound.

Frontman George Pettit called “Misogyny” a snapshot of mid-’90s rock culture. He recalled how Rusty’s music dominated MuchMusic and encouraged a new generation to pick up guitars. With this version, Alexisonfire bridge their hardcore roots with the melodic grit of that era.

“Copies Of Old Masters: Volume 1” drops November 7 via Dine Alone Records. “Misogyny” is available below and on all streaming platforms.
