Author Benedetta Baldin - 4.3.2026

Guitarist Alexander Kuoppala has shared in a social media post about playing once more with Children of Bodom for two shows at Tavastia club in Helsinki.

There are no words to describe what I felt when we hit the stage for two nights with Children of Bodom. It has been 23 years since the last show I did with the band.

Back then, on 2003, I decided to step out but now I got the chance to return to the stage with the guys who I grew up with. I am honoured, I am privileged, I am happy that I got to be part of this celebration of music of COB again.

I practised for half a year the songs again. Some of them I knew already, some were new to me. Some days I felt like I got it, some days I got frustrared, went through an emotional rollercoaster but kept on going and spent countless hours of practising again and again…and we did it!!! I am so truly happy that we were together again. I want to thank my loving family for endless patience as I spent hundreds of hours on practising set all over again.

Big hug to @braindeadsamy who stood beside me at the stage. You are the best and I am so proud of you. Huge respect and thanks to @henkkaseppaelae @janne_wirman @raatikainen_jaska for the trust and chance to be part of this again. I love you guys and I am proud what we have done together . My thoughts also go to Alexi Laiho, my little brother with whom we built something totally special back then. Now we celebrated that legacy with very special way

My humble also goes to the awesome crew that accepted me with open hearts and helped me through this.

Huge thank you goes to all the fans that came to see us live. Thank you for being with us at all times and for your love and support. It really warms my heart to see and hear what this means to you.
