The multi-Grammy Award-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Aerosmith have revealed that their upcoming “Aerosmith (Legendary Edition)” will be released on March 20, 2026, as per Blabbermouth. The Boston rock icons, Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, Brad Whitford, and Joey Kramer, have put together the ultimate version of their multiplatinum 1973 self-titled debut album “Aerosmith” for the first time. Together with Grammy Award-winning producer Steve Berkowitz and Grammy Award-nominated producer and mixer Zakk Cervini (Blink-182, Halsey), Aerosmith co-founders Steven Tyler and Joe Perry have recently mixed the original recordings and tapes in an attempt to ultimately present their unadulterated vision. As a result, this brand-new 2024 album mix is the highlight of the extensive “Legendary Edition” collection.
Capitol Records and UMe will offer “Aerosmith (Legendary Edition)” in a number of formats, which are detailed below. These options include a 5LP box, 4LP slipcase, 1LP black or 1LP color, 3CD, 1CD, and digital. Additionally, exclusive goods will be offered. Purchase in advance via the group’s official store. Aerosmith just released “Mama Kin (2024 Mix)” as an instant-grat track to commemorate the announcement. It gives fans a taste of what to expect from the newly mixed version of the record and intensifies the excitement of the original.
The limited-edition “Aerosmith (Legendary Collector’s Edition)” is one of the different album configurations. The original album, now remastered on 180g clear vinyl, the brand-new 2024 album mix pressed on 180g translucent red vinyl, a highly sought-after live performance from Paul’s Mall back in 1973 on 180g black vinyl, a number of recently discovered and unheard studio tracks on 180g black vinyl, and an exclusive clear UV cloud-effect 12″ vinyl with “Dream On” (2024 Remaster) and “Dream On” (2024 Mix) printed on a sky-blue slipmat. The package, which includes a unique hardcover book with never-before-seen photos and creative direction by famous photographer Ross Halfin, traces the origins of Aerosmith.
The liner notes, written by author and seasoned music writer Rick Florino, tell the story of Aerosmith in the band’s own words through fresh interviews with all five original members as well as viewpoints, ideas, and praise from celebrities like Dolly Parton, Corey Taylor of Slipknot, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains, Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes, Slash of Guns N’ Roses, Sully Erna of Godsmack, and more. An special fold-out 24″ by 36″ poster and sticker sheet is also included in the package. When the box opens, a 3D Aerosmith popup Diorama is revealed.
There are also two special fanpacks available. The “Aerosmith – Legendary Collector’s Edition Fanpack” comes with a satin bomber jacket and a 5LP deluxe box set, while the “Aerosmith – Legendary Edition Fanpack” comes with transparent red vinyl and a brand-new band t-shirt. The remastered original album, the 2024 album mix, Live At Paul’s Mall, and the unearthed and unheard studio tracks on 2LPs are all included in “Aerosmith (Legendary Deluxe Edition),” which comes in four LPs pressed on 180g black vinyl and packaged in a high-end slipcase. A book with the updated liner notes, images, and more is included.
“Aerosmith (Legendary Expanded Edition)” is a 3CD. It includes the uncovered and unreleased studio recordings, Live At Paul’s Mall, the 2024 album mix, and the restored original album. New images are included in the 16-page booklet. The “Legendary Edition” LP is pressed on 180g black vinyl or limited-edition transparent red vinyl and comes in a numbered premium tip-on jacket, while the “Legendary Edition” CD comes with a 12-page booklet with pictures.
