Adam Warren, the vocalist for Oceano, faced criticism this week for his band’s decision to take the direct support slot on the upcoming “America’s Rejects Tour.” His deathcore band was scheduled to accompany Attila, Dealer, and Nathan James on that journey. Given the contentious histories of Attila and Dealer members, fans objected to Oceano‘s inclusion in the bill. Chris Fronzak, the singer of Attila, refuted accusations of sexual misconduct in 2020, however Bryan McClure, his bandmate and drummer, was fired in the same year after he was accused of rape and sexual misconduct. Another person with a troubled past is Dealer vocalist Aidan Ellaz Holmes, who left Alpha Wolf in February 2018 due to accusations of sexual assault and other misdeeds. Charges were allegedly brought, however they were eventually withdrawn for lack of proof. After being accused of abuse by his bandmates, Dealer‘s lineup collapsed, placing Holmes at the center of yet another controversy. Since that enormous exodus, Holmes has reconstructed Dealer‘s lineup multiple times. When the aforementioned tour was announced earlier this week, it caused controversy among bands as well. John Arnold, the bassist and singer for Alpha Wolf, reportedly called it the “rapist abuser tour,” suggesting that those involved will face consequences in the business. Fit For A King singer and bassist Ryan “Tuck” O’Leary was similarly incensed by the trek, posting on social media, “I wonder if Dealer will participate in Fronz’s only fans? Aidan could find it too consensual.” Warren took up the matter head-on on X on November 20th, outlining his position on why he agreed to the tour and claiming that he had nothing to do with the misconduct. He went on to say that he would be the first to point out any unethical action he saw. His justifications, however, did not sit well with everyone; among other things, social media supporters accused him of prioritizing money over morals. Warren said in a follow-up statement posted on social media tonight that he had no idea how serious the accusations against his intended tourmates were. He added that no one in his social circle had previously informed him of the background of the bands in question. He added that Oceano has finally paid the bill and that, because he is leaving the group, they will be organizing their last performances for the upcoming year.
