In 1991, Acid Bath was founded. The band was based in a number of small communities, including Houma, Thibodaux, Morgan City, and Galliano, south of New Orleans. Acid Bath was a combination of two bands: Golgotha, which included Dax Riggs, Mike Sanchez, Jimmy Kyle, and Jerry “Boon” Businelli, and Dark Karnival, which included Audie Pitre, Sammy Pierre Duet, and Tommy Viator. The constant rotation of Golgotha‘s bassists culminated in Chad Pierce, who was replaced by Pitre during the founding of Acid Bath. Jimmy Kyle eventually took Tommy Viator’s place on drums, although he later came back to play keyboards when the band’s career came to an end. For a brief period, Joseph J. Fontenot played bass.
