Acid Bath performed a rarity at their show in Tennessee – video footage now available

Fans who attended Acid Bath‘s performance this past Saturday, March 21st, at The Caverns in Pelham, Tennessee, were treated to a set closing surprise: a rendition of “The Blue” from their 1994 first album “When The Kite String Pops”, as per theprp. The band hasn’t played that song since April of 1997. Here is fan-shot video of the song’s much anticipated live comeback.

In 1991, Acid Bath was founded. The band was based in a number of small communities, including Houma, Thibodaux, Morgan City, and Galliano, south of New Orleans. Acid Bath was a combination of two bands: Golgotha, which included Dax Riggs, Mike Sanchez, Jimmy Kyle, and Jerry “Boon” Businelli, and Dark Karnival, which included Audie Pitre, Sammy Pierre Duet, and Tommy Viator. The constant rotation of Golgotha‘s bassists culminated in Chad Pierce, who was replaced by Pitre during the founding of Acid Bath. Jimmy Kyle eventually took Tommy Viator’s place on drums, although he later came back to play keyboards when the band’s career came to an end. For a brief period, Joseph J. Fontenot played bass.
