Acclaimed heavy metal act VIMIC announces new single “Parasite Persona”

Author Benedetta Baldin - 3.9.2025

Following a successful Kickstarter Campaign, raising over $100,000 to fund the release of the long-awaited “Open Your Omen” album, due out October 3, VIMIC has announced the last single prior to the album’s release, “Parasite Persona ” out September 5. Per songwriter and lead vocalist Kalen Chase:

The music of Parasite Persona is a combination of violent mania and claustrophobic oppression. It presses into your temples and then throws you off of a cliff. When I first heard it, the lyrical theme hit me like a sledgehammer. It’s a not-so-gentle musing about complete societal, social and spiritual breakdown. As a music fan, sometimes I don’t want to listen to peaceful protest songs, or hopeful songs, or love songs. Sometimes, I wanna dive into the darkness and despair so that I can come out the other side. In summation, Parasite Persona is heavy as f—.

“Open Your Omen” is VIMIC‘s only album that has been completed and shelved since 2016. VIMIC will be reuniting for the first time since 2018 in conjunction with the album’s release on October 3rd, 2025. Joey Jordison’s sisters have worked on securing the rights to the music over the years to honor their brother and provide the fans with what they have been requesting since before Joey passed.

The reunion show will take place at Teragram Ballroom, the Joey Jordison Charitable Fund will not only honor Jordison’s memory but also celebrate the release of the album. VIMIC will be supported by Wednesday 13 (who worked with Jordison in Murderdolls) along with some very special guests such as Luanna Demetto (Crypta), Ash Pearson (Three Inches of Blood), Chris Williams (Accept), Caleb Hayes (prodigy child drummer), and more to be announced; there will be exclusive event merchandise available.

Funds raised from the Kickstarter campaign are being utilized to release “Open Your Omen” on CD/Double LP, market the album, print merch that Joey Jordison was involved with designing years ago, and produce the reunion event in October. Proceeds from the event will be focused on the Joey Jordison Charitable Fund’s partnership with Broken Strings. Broken Strings is a Non-Profit in Iowa (where Joey and his family are from) that gives out guitars to kids in each school district. The family would like to be able to do the same thing, but with drums.
