US black metal stalwarts Abigail Williams have released a haunting new single, “Still Nights”, taken from their upcoming full-length, “A Void Within Existence”. The album—their sixth to date—is set to drop on July 18th via Agonia Records.
Produced by frontman and guitarist Ken Sorceron and mixed by renowned metal mastermind Dave Otero (Aborted, Akhlys), the album boasts a polished yet devastating sound. Behind the drums is the technically ferocious Mike Heller (Fear Factory, Ghost Bath), while the album’s stunning cover art was created by none other than Eliran Kantor (Tesbtament, Bloodbath).
Described as a cinematic and uncompromising black metal journey, “A Void Within Existence” plunges deep into themes of loss, dissolution, and unreality. Tracks like “Still Nights” and “No Less Than Death” explore fractured identity through surreal imagery, while “Embrace The Chasm” and “Life, Disconnected” dive into cosmic emptiness and personal vanishing.
According to Sorceron, the album’s creation was a deeply personal and intense process. He reveals that “A Void Within Existence” was born “in the silent moments when everything felt hollow,” capturing his drive to delve deeper into sound, emotion, and spiritual expression. He describes the album as “a trial by fire, after which only shadow and silence remain.”
The band’s lineup has also solidified into a tight four-piece. Sorceron (ex-Aborted, ex-The Faceless, Vale Of Pnath, Nachtmystium) continues to handle vocals and guitar, joined by guitarist Vance Valenzuela (Vale Of Pnath), bassist John Porada (ex-Nachtmystium, ex-Wolvhammer), and drummer Mike Heller (Fear Factory, Malignancy), who replaces longtime member Gabe Seeber.
