Australian deathcore force Aversions Crown have released their new three‑track EP titled “A Voice from the Outer Dark” via Nuclear Blast Records. The EP marks a major turning point for the band, introducing new vocalist Alex Teyen, formerly of Black Tongue, who replaces Tyler Miller after his departure in 2023.
The band dropped the lead single and title track “A Voice from the Outer Dark” back in June 10, backed by a Matrix‑inspired music video directed by founding member Colin Jeffs. The release signals a bold return after a period of silence, described as a dark rebirth that captures renewed intent, brutal evolution, and total annihilation.
The EP features three tracks: “A Voice from the Outer Dark”, “Deathbed Lamentations”, and “Castigation Choir”. It was recorded in October 2024 and produced by Lance Prenc and Edward Sklavos, with artwork by Róbert A. Borbás (Grindesign).
Musically, the EP leans into the band’s signature technical deathcore roots—intense riffs, blasting drums, and cosmic horror-themed lyrics—while showcasing Alex Teyen’s aggressive new vocal style. The title track blends eerie ambience with punishing breakdowns, offering a fresh take that still echoes the band’s past work.
