A tribute to the Reaper: Reaper Entertainment honors the legacy of Children Of Bodom
Author Benedetta Baldin - 8.9.2025
Reaper Entertainment proudly announces a very special project close to the label’s heart: “A Tribute To The Reaper” – a collective tribute to one of the most influential bands in modern metal history, Children Of Bodom.
The idea was born directly at the core of Reaper Entertainment. Since the label’s very name is rooted in our deep admiration for Children Of Bodom, it felt only natural to celebrate their legacy in a truly unique way: by asking our bands to record their own interpretations of COB classics during their studio sessions.
The result: a growing collection of reimagined Bodom anthems, each track infused with the unmistakable character and style of the contributing bands.
To kick things off, these covers will be released digitally as standalone singles. Additionally, all tracks will be compiled on the exclusive CD sampler “A Tribute To The Reaper”, available for free as a bonus item with all orders from the official Children Of Bodom Shop starting late October 2025. And with more covers still in the works, a full-scale release may follow in the future.
The Tracks so far:
- Elvenking – “Children Of Decadence”
With their trademark blend of folk and symphonic elements, Elvenking turn “Children Of Decadence” into a haunting anthem. The result is both majestic and raw – a version that honors the original while bearing the band’s unmistakable stamp.
- Parasite Inc. – “Homeland” (IneartheD cover)
As a special highlight, Parasite Inc. went all the way back to Bodom’s roots – covering “Homeland” from Alexi Laiho’s pre-Bodom project IneartheD. Their version is a tribute to where it all began, delivering raw energy with a modern melodic death metal punch.
- Bloodorn – “Needled 24/7”
Bloodorn unleash pure power with their fierce take on this Bodom classic. Staying true to its frantic speed and relentless aggression, they inject the song with their own modern edge – a blast of pure adrenaline.
- Horizon Ignited – “Sixpounder”
With razor-sharp riffs and a crushing modern production, Horizon Ignited give “Sixpounder” a fresh, melodic death metal twist. Their rendition strikes a balance between raw heaviness and soaring atmosphere.
- Gladenfold – “Towards Dead End”
Epic, melodic, and deeply emotional: Gladenfold transform this iconic track into a cinematic journey. Their version amplifies the dramatic core of the song, layering it with symphonic grandeur while preserving its fierce spirit.
- Final Strike – “Bodom After Midnight”
Final Strike keep it fast, sharp, and uncompromising. Their rendition of “Bodom After Midnight”is a razor-edged tribute that channels the same unstoppable energy Alexi Laiho and co. ignited on stage.
- Kambrium – “Angels Don’t Kill”
Kambrium’s powerful interpretation of “Angels Don’t Kill” blends crushing symphonic death metal with the song’s brooding atmosphere. Monumental and dark, it turns into a soundtrack of pure might.
- Milking The Goatmachine – “Hate Me!”
True to their mad spirit, Milking The Goatmachine take “Hate Me!” into absurd, brutal, and groovy territory. Their cover is both a violent homage and a tongue-in-cheek nod to Bodom’s rebellious attitude.
- Suotana – “Hatebreeder”
Suotana bring their arctic melodic death force to “Hatebreeder”. Cold, sweeping, and ferocious, the track becomes an atmospheric blizzard – a perfect match of Finnish heritage and Suotana’s own identity.
With “A Tribute To The Reaper”, Reaper Entertainment not only pays homage to the band that inspired its very foundation, but also unites a diverse roster of artists in celebrating the immortal legacy of Alexi Laiho and Children Of Bodom.
More covers are already in the making – and this is only the beginning.
