A Tribute To The Reaper – Elvenking’s digital single of “Children of Decadence” released

With their unmistakable blend of folk-inspired melody and symphonic power, Elvenking reimagine “Children of Decadence” as a darkly beautiful tribute to Children Of Bodom.
Instead of simply covering the song, the Italian masters of melodic metal transform it into an epic journey—filled with emotion, atmosphere, and a touch of their trademark mysticism.

From the first haunting notes to the final soaring chorus, their version captures both the anguish and the defiance of Alexi Laiho’s original.
Layers of violin and orchestration weave through the furious riffs, while the vocals channel the song’s tragic intensity into something timeless and grand.

“Going through the first three albums, it was very difficult to pick one song, since these three works in particular have been very important to us and closely tied to the beginning of our career. So we chose “Children of Decadence,” a song that gave us the chance to fully express ourselves through the music of Alexi Laiho & co., with the right space for each and every one of us — violin included.
At the same time, we didn’t want to spoil such a classic track by making a dull “folk” or “melodic” version just for the sake of adding a personal touch. We simply grabbed our instruments and banged the song as hard and intensely as we could, with the utmost passion and respect for this fundamental metal band, thinking back to the times when we blasted Something Wild, Hatebreeder, and later Follow the Reaper at full volume in our car while driving to the studio every morning for the recording of our demo and then our debut album.”

The track is available now on all digital platforms and will also appear on the exclusive CD sampler “A Tribute To The Reaper”, available for free with all orders from the official Children Of Bodom Shop starting in December.

This release marks the next powerful entry in the “A Tribute To The Reaper” project — a celebration of Alexi Laiho’s enduring legacy, uniting bands across generations and genres in honor of one of metal’s greatest icons.
