The final theme music for the most recent Gundam series movie, “Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery Of Nymph Circe,” will be “Sweet Child O’ Mine” by the renowned rock group Guns N’ Roses, according to Bandai Namco Filmworks, as per Blabbermouth. A special promotional trailer featuring the song is expected to be published on Monday, February 2. The song’s lyrics, which are full of tenderness and longing as they depict the complex emotions brought about by the presence of “her,” resonate deeply with protagonist Hathaway’s own feelings after meeting an attractive young woman named Gigi, making it a fitting and poignant film ending theme.
When “Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway” debuted in Japanese theaters in 2021, it received a lot of praise for its realistic fighting scenes, nuanced language, and psychological characterization of the characters. Today, Friday, January 30, the eagerly anticipated newest film in the series, “Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery Of Nymph Circe,” opens in Japanese theaters. A worldwide theatrical release is scheduled to follow.
In September 1988, “Sweet Child O’ Mine” peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Since its 1987 release, the song, which begins with Slash‘s instantly identifiable guitar riff, has been accepted as a cross-generational anthem. It combines the power of hard rock with a lovely melody. Its music video became the first song from the 1980s to reach one billion views on YouTube in 2019, and as of 2026, it has amassed an incredible 1.8 billion views. The song is still the biggest hit in the history of Guns N’ Roses.
