A Russian strike damages Ignea’s headquarters in Ukraine

Author Benedetta Baldin - 16.6.2026

Ignea recently posted a video to their social media accounts, showcasing the destruction of the band’s offices in Kyiv, Ukraine, as per theprp. The band’s singer, Helle Bohdanova, claims that the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Film Studio has sustained significant damage as a result of an overnight strike that local media claim was initiated by Russian soldiers. Windows in the group’s area of the building seem to have been broken, and the wardrobe department, which had clothes the band wore for an upcoming new music video, has also been destroyed. In addition, a variety of objects in their area were being knocked down, and the building’s debris was strewn all over the place.

Bohdanova was grateful that the building itself is still mostly intact despite the apparent setbacks. Local media have cited the Russian Defence Ministry as saying that the building was targeted because it made drone production easier. Napalm Records has announced that Ignea‘s new album “Monumental” will be released on October 23.

“Monumental” is Ignea’s second full-length album that was written during the full-scale war in Ukraine. The recording process mostly took place in the winter of 2025-2026, during icy temperatures and long power outages in Kyiv.

Musically, “Monumental” blends technical metal riffs, industrial textures, atmospheric interludes, grandiose choruses, and melodic passages to mirror “nostalgic rides,” where darkness, reflection, and awe collide.

Visually and conceptually, Ignea drew inspiration from retrofuturism, modernist and monumental architecture, and industrial design, creating a world where sound, imagery, and memory converge. The album stands as an ode to the past, a meditation on lost and unrealized futures, and a celebration of the enduring beauty hidden within forgotten places. The opening track, “Darkness,” sets the emotional tone, capturing the nostalgic escapes we all drift into when the present feels overwhelming and the past seems gentler than it truly was.
