“A perfect written lyric is half of the music” – Evergrey’s Tom Englund shares his story as a metal vocalist 

There are voices where you hear just a few syllables and you can already identify the person responsible for that melody, and Tom Englund is certainly one of those singers with a unique vocal signature. Known worldwide for giving voice and transforming feelings into songs with Evergrey, the Swedish musician has also released works with Redemption and the duo Silent Skies, in addition to countless collaborations with other artists. Last year Evergrey‘s Theories of Emptiness was released via Napalm Records and new music is already being produced to come out in 2026.

Chaoszine had a chat with Tom before he got on stage in Helsinki and discussed in detail how he started listening to heavy music, his influences and the kind of vocalist he became. You can check out the video interview in full below:
