A new feud has started: David Draiman versus John Cusack

Author Benedetta Baldin - 22.10.2025

David Draiman of Disturbed responded angrily to actor and political activist John Cusack on social media this week, as reported by theprp. The heated argument started when someone on X demanded that Disturbed‘s performance in Dublin, Ireland, tonight, October 22, be canceled. The main reason for that person’s displeasure with the show booking was Draiman’s 2024 signing of an artillery shell from the Israel Defense Force. Since adding the words “F*ck Hamas” on that shell, Draiman has encountered criticism as well as support for it. His critics, who frequently point to the large number of civilian deaths in the Israel-Gaza conflict, have charged him with warmongering, calling for genocide, and other offenses.

Although his vocal support of Israel’s war actions has been a contentious subject, Draiman has persisted in refuting those charges. The local mayor recently canceled the band’s performance in Brussels, Belgium owing to security concerns about his signature of the shell and the possibility of protests or worse. After local police did a danger assessment, that choice was made. Someone posted a photo of Draiman signing the shell on X over the weekend.

If there was someone shot in the head tonight in Cork City and my signature was found on the bullet, would you give me a gig @mcd_productions????
Ye will forever be a disgrace to this country if ye go ahead with this David Drainman gig next Wednesday in Dublin.

On October 20th, John Cusack reposted the post, to which Draiman replied in his own manner.

Hello @johncusack, my old friend.
It isn’t psychotic to defend oneself from a genocidal death cult, hell bent on slaughtering you.
What’s psychotic, is you defending that genocidal, Jew hating death cult, the way you have for years.

You want psychotic? Look in the mirror.
