Finland has always been a country whose major export is heavy metal bands, and this time it isn’t different. Invincia are a melodic heavy metal band that are just about to release their EP “The Enemy Within”, and I would strongly suggest keeping an eye out for them.
While the EP is quite short, it’s full of interesting melodies, great riffs and overall solid heavy metal. Can we ask for more? Definitely, but for now, all we can do is listen to their songs on repeat. My personal favourite has to be “Moon“, the closing track of the EP.
Invincia exhibits a sophisticated grasp of traditional heavy metal songcraft, evidently influenced by heavy metal icons. While keeping the clean mixing that contemporary metal requires, the production lets each instrument breathe quite seamlessly. The rhythm section offers a strong foundation, and it’s not hard to fall in love with their sound.
The band’s dedication to melody without compromising heaviness is what instantly strikes the listener. The songs have real weight, and when the band decides to unleash their harder moments, they do so with impact and purpose. This is melodic metal that never forgets to be metal first. So mark your calendars for Friday, because it’s time for Invincia to unleash their opening statement to the metal community!
