A debut that demands attention – review of “Life Is Just A Phase” by Seven Blood”

Author Benedetta Baldin - 14.11.2025

If there’s a country that has always had consistently good heavy metal bands other than Finland, it’s definitely Germany. So it’s my pleasure to be the one that is tasked in reviewing Seven Blood‘s upcoming album titled “Life Is Just A Phase“, to be released on November 21st, 2025.

I must say, this release is top-notch to be just their debut album. The quality of mixing, mastering and production shows a lot of effort, even though as it is the norm with a metal release, the bass is a bit hidden in the mix. But that is, as usual, my personal preference and not at all a fault of the band.

The group’s talent shines bright in certain tracks like “Hourglass“, “To The Unknown” and “Fall From The Sky“. I really enjoyed the choice of themes from the band, like being in some places where you don’t belong, or figuring out what is best for ourselves. These common struggles, combined with the elegance and power of the band, reach deeper into the listener’s heart.

Azaria’s vocals, confident and emotional, deliver a spectacular performance all throughout the 11 songs; Oli on guitar is doing a great job in creating melodies and riffs, and with Josi on bass, the rhythmic section is solid and secure. Anfy on drums is very balanced, and doesn’t abuse the pedals, which is quite refreshing to hear!

All in all, Seven Blood have prepared rather an interesting product with “Life Is Just A Phase”. Especially in 2025 where modern metal reigns with a tight grip, they will find their place soon into charts, festivals and more. If this album is an indicator of quality for the band, I’m expecting bigger and better things from the Germans!
