The annual 70000TONS Of Metal cruise organizers have released a statement in response to recent claims that have been making the rounds on this year’s trip, as per theprp. Online reports surfaced last month accusing Chris Monroy, the guitarist and singer of Skeletal Remains, of routinely grabbing and touching women on the trip without their permission. According to reports, Monroy’s behavior led to his exclusion from the cruise, and security on board is claimed to have been engaged. Despite the accusations, Skeletal Remains and Monroy have not spoken out, and their social media accounts’ comments sections are temporarily disabled.

At least one cruise participant posted a message on social media about the situation. Former GWAR member Kim Dylla, who has contributed to “70,000 Tons Of Metal” in a variety of ways since 2013, made a public statement on Facebook.

The vocalist for the death metal band Sanguisugabogg, Devin Swank, is also reported to have publicly denounced Monroy for his purported actions.

Yeah at a concert in August I knocked someone the fuck out because they groped my wife drunk as shit at an eyehategod show. I see any of you downplaying what that turd in Skeletal Remains did then you can get dealt with the same way

The 70000TONS Of Metal cruise organizers provided this statement when MetalSucks contacted them for comment on the matter.

Our security team was made aware of a situation during the cruise and promptly interviewed all parties involved to defuse the matter. After reviewing the information available at the time, no further action was warranted.

‘70000TONS OF METAL‘ is a very friendly and inclusive environment, and we take the safety and well-being of our guests, crew, and artists extremely seriously. We also have a clear code of conduct that we hold everyone on board to, including guests and musicians alike.
