In the latter part of September, 1914 will go back on the road, as per lambgoat. The forthcoming tour will take the Ukrainian blackened death/doom group through Central Europe.
The Ukrainian metal band 1914 was founded in Lviv in 2014. The band was called for the year it started, and its main topic revolves around World War I. In terms of music, 1914 blends black metal, death, and doom. Dmytro “Kumar” Ternuschak started 1914 in the summer of 2014 in Lviv with a collection of musicians who had previously performed in several Ukrainian bands, including Skinhate, Ambivalence, ForceOut, Johny B Gut, Stalag 328, Disentrail, Ratbite, and Toster. The group’s first album, “Eschatology of War”, was published by Archaic Sound in 2015. “The Blind Leading the Blind”, their second album, was out three years later. Press assessments of the record were favourable, and 1914 quickly inked a deal with Napalm Records.
“Where Fear and Weapons Meet”, the label’s third studio album, was released in 2021 and won praise from critics. It was later listed as one of the year’s greatest albums. 1914 revealed the title of their fourth studio album, Viribus Unitis, on August 21, 2025. The album’s lead track, “1916 (The Bétirol Offensive),” was released the following day. The band’s second single, “1914 (The Siege of Przemyśl),” was released on October 3, 2025.
